The Rebuilding Of Classic Thunder

CLASS:

CLASSIC DRAGSTER, Modified 01/17/2004

DESIGNATIONS:

The present FED Pro Class Classic Thunder structure is:
  1. AA/FD - Blown nitro
  2. A/FD - Injected nitro
  3. BB/FD - Blown alcohol,
  4. B/FD or Junior Fuel - Injected alcohol, all followed by car number

The Modified FED Pro Class Classic Thunder structure would be:

  1. AA/FD - Blown nitro
  2. A/FD - Blown alcohol and Injected nitro (both make about the same amount of power)
  3. B/FD or Junior Fuel - Injected alcohol, all followed by a car number
  4. BODY: Must have dragster style body covering lower part of driver's body
  5. WINGS AND SPOILERS: Permitted
  6. CHASSIS: Front engine only. Must have minimum 3 inch ground clearance. See general safety for chassis inspection.
  7. DRIVER: Must sit behind engine. Center Steer only
  8. WHEELBASE: Must be 136 inches or longer
  9. ENGINE: Any year, any type, any cubic inch
  10. INDUCTION SYSTEM: Must be blown or injected (injected engines may use port/stack type injectors or tunnel rams with an injector hat). No carburetors
  11. FUEL: Alcohol or Nitromethane permitted
  12. EXHAUST: Must have Zoomie, weed burner, or straight pipe headers. No collector headers
  13. NITROUS OXIDE: Prohibited
  14. ELECTRONICS: Driver functions must be accomplished by driver only, not by electronics. Trans brake permitted.
  15. SUPERCHARGER: Any size blower, any over drive, 14:1 restraint required
  16. TRANSMISSION: Any type. All shields and blankets required
  • SAFETY: Modified 01/17/2004
  1. License requirements for CT events.
  2. A CT Dragster driver will have a Competition license for their particular Class/speed.
  3. Competition licensees can be inspected at any time during a CT event.
  4. Grace periods for new drivers will be granted on a case by case by the CT Dragster director or higher.
  5. Grace period approval must be agreed upon prior to racing at any CT events.
